Dear R.D. Head Families,
Every year since our school opened in 1979, we have added greatly
to our foundation in developing students as intentional and
productive learners and effective leaders. Student achievement
and performance improves each year. We continue to attract the
best and brightest staff from within and outside Gwinnett County.
Our parent support and involvement grows each year. As a community,
we have earned a reputation as being an outstanding place to
live and learn.
As we continue to build on this reputation, we will continue
to focus on improving student achievement, particularly in the
areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. In addition, we
will continue to strengthen our students' abilities to use media
and technology effectively as learning tools. We appreciate
your support of these efforts by making sure students maintain
good school attendance and punctuality and by expecting them
to do quality work at school. When we work together to help
students meet high expectations, they benefit greatly.
Thank you for taking time to read the policies, procedures,
and information contained in the PTA Handbook. Please be sure
to take advantage of Curriculum Night, PTA meetings, parent-teacher
conferences, and other school activities to stay connected to
your child's school experiences. Parent involvement has been
demonstrated through research to be one of the most significant
factors in a child's success with learning.
We wish you and your family the best this school year and invite
you to help us to continue to be the very best school for our
children.
Sincerely,
Leigh Westcott, Principal
& The Faculty and Staff of R.D. Head Elementary
